Geo Thermal Skies

Whew! It has been a crazy few days out here in yellowstone! The past 3 days here was filled with perfect weather and I basically shot non stop except for a mid day nap, maybe 2-3 hours during the night for sleep and eating time. This blog post isn’t going to be filled with photos as I am still trying to catch up on my editing as I shot nearly a half of a terabyte of unbelievably awesome footage in the past 3 days!

Anyways I’d like to start this post off with one of the best experiences I have had on this trip up to date and surprisingly it didn’t have anything to do with timelapse. Just after Callum and I finished scouting out our sunset location (clepsydra) we decided to find a good spot to nap but on our way we discovered and EPIC swimming hole. The main sort of beach area was on a little river and you could swim up it until a rather fast section of rapids or swim down to a smaller rapid that you could lay down in which felt like a water massage! Anyways after about 30 minutes of just swimming around I noticed a really deep section and a couple of cliffs surrounding it. So I tested the waters and …

Geronimo!

We found this swimming hole at the perfect time in the trip as it was so refreshing on a super hot day and was a ton of fun away from the cameras!

Anyways here are a few of the places I have shot and I will hopefully have time to post a few more soon! The first photo is from a quick hike to a viewpoint of the Grand Prismatic Spring.. I had seen photos of it but didn’t believe that it was that color or that crazy but  it really is!

The Grand Prismatic Spring

Needless to say this was my favourite place so far in Yellowstone and we came back to see the unbelievably cool texture on the outskirts of the spring at night

We shot a ton of geysers and even managed to capture a full rainbow in the mist from Grand Geyser but I haven’t been able to get to that footage yet! Anyways here is the Clepsydra Geyser during a crazy sunset!

Clepsydra Geyser is constantly erupting which creates greate photos any time of day

Anyways my laundry is done and the flies are driving me insane so its time to pack it up and head on back to the park to shoot the Morning Glory Pool!
Cheers
